South Korea conducts missile drill simulating an attack on N’Korean nuclear site.

The move is in response to North Korea’s sixth test, and it involved live-fire exercise in which rockets were launched from fighter jets and ballistic missiles from the ground.

The United States has also warned that any threat to itself or its allies would be met with a massive military response.

The warning followed North Korea’s confirmation that it tested a hydrogen bomb that can fit on a long-range missile.

Pyongyang conducted the test in repeated defiance of United Nations sanctions and international pressure against its nuclear development programme and testing of missiles.

Meanwhile; the UN Security Council has called another emergency meeting later today to discuss its response to the latest provocation by Pyongyang.

Ahead of the meeting, South Korea and Japan have agreed to push for a stronger UN resolution on North Korea.
