You will recall that the Senate had two weeks ago thrown out the twenty-nine point nine-six billion dollars external borrowing plan for funding of infrastructure development up to 2018 due to insufficient details.
But the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, FEMI ADESINA, has said the information requested by the Senate would be provided in the fresh presentation.
The Presidential spokesman, who gave this indication in an interview with newsmen yesterday, said the Senate did not reject the President’s request outright.
ADESINA said before the government decided to put up the request, it already had worked out what it intended to use the foreign loans.
He said the Presidency was out to serve the people, adding that national interest rather than politics should be the overriding factor is deciding any cause of action by both the executive and the legislative arms of government.
