Senator SARAKI said what the government is doing is mere sensationalism of corruption, which has yielded much success.
The Senate President made the observation in Abuja, at the ?launch of a book entitled “Antidotes for Corruption: The Nigerian Story” and written by Senator DINO MELAYE.
SARAKI advised the government to refocus the fight against corruption on deterrence of the act as against punishment of offenders.
He suggested the strengthening of institutions vested with the powers to fight corruption and also adopt strategies that would make it difficult for individuals to engage in corrupt practices.
In the same vein, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, YAKUBU DOGARA, advocated a preventive approach to fighting corruption.
DOGARA stressed that the fight against corruption should be a moral responsibility of all Nigerians since the effect does not spare anyone.
