Clark, who is the National Leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum, said he is greatly disturbed by the recent developments in Rivers State, especially the plot to unlawfully remove Governor Siminalayi Fubara from office.
Clark, in a statement, accused the former governor of orchestrating the plot, an intention which he said is to remove Fubara, force his deputy, Professor Ngozi Odu to resign, and install the Speaker of the House of Assembly, another Ikwerre person, as the governor of the State.
The Niger Delta Elder Statesman, while insisting that the Ijaw will resist any plan to remove Fubara, said President Bola Tinubu must call Wike and the security agencies in Rivers State to order to avert any crisis in the State.
Youths in Rivers State have declared support for Governor Siminalayi Fubara following the House of Assembly’s serving of an impeachment notice on him.
The State Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Chijioke Ihunwo, who addressed newsmen,warned those trying to cause trouble in the state to desist forthwith.
Ihunwo who said Governor Fubara represents the youths, insisted that they will resist attempts by anyone to hijack the resources of Rivers people.
The NYCN leader, while warning the Nigerian Police to remain neutral in discharge of their duties, threatened to occupy parts of the state, should there be any further move by few desperate individuals to deny the people the mandate given to the governor.
