The State Police Command has also issued seven day deadline for those who have fitted such devices on their vehicles to remove them or face the consequences.
The Police Public Relations Officer, NNAMDI OMONI, said the State Command has been observed indiscriminate use of spy plate numbers and revolving lights by private individuals and corporate bodies.
OMONI who is a Deputy Superintendent of Police said drivers of such vehicles brazenly drive against traffic and flagrantly disobey traffic rules and regulations, as well as engage in other criminal acts.
The Police spokesman said the X-Squad and other Units of the Rivers State Police Command have been directed to arrest defaulters and impound any vehicle in default of the ban on unauthorized use of spy plate numbers and revolving lights.
