The State chairman of the NLC, Beatrice Itubo who spoke in an interview with Today FM said the union had already declared the strike before the intervention of the government some years ago which led them to merely suspend the action.
Itubo however regretted that the state government was yet to fulfil their own part of the agreement which led to the suspension of the action.
The NLC chairman who is also the Governorship candidate of the Labour party in Rivers state however declared that she is no longer bothered if the action of the union is tagged political.
