The governor’s request was read during plenary yesterday by the speaker of the house, Ikuiyi Owaji-Ibani.
The letter stated that most states in the country have already accessed the funds except Rivers and few others
The credit facility if accessed would be used to fund the Radio Therapy Deportment in the Doctor Peter Odili’s Cancer and Cardio Vascular Treatment Center and enhance facilities at the Kelsey Harrison Hospital and the Dental and Masillo Facial Center in Port Harcourt.
Ruling on the request after a brief debate by members, Ikuiyi Owaji-Ibani noted that if other states have benefited from the fund, Rivers State should not be left out
Today FM’s Preye Izogu reports that thirteen members voted in support of the request when the speaker put the request into vote.
