Rivers health sector at loggerheads with Rivers state govt over labour issues.

This is because the Joint Health Sector Union of Nigeria is demanding the regularization of the consolidated salary structure of health workers, among other things.

Our correspondent CHINEDU IWUNNA reports that the leadership of JOHESU wants the Rivers State government to address the outstanding issues before 4th  of May or face an industrial action.

A source within the state leadership of JOHESU disclosed that the union would issue fourteen days ultimatum after 4th May, in accordance with industrial regulations, if the Rivers State Government failed to respond to their demands.

Our source said another seven-day ultimatum may follow, after which the health workers would be left with no other option than to withdraw their services indefinitely.
