Trial judge, Justice, Okogbule Gbasam struck out the matter against NWUZI, after the Rivers State Government through the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Professor Zacchaeus Adangor informed the court of the state government’s resolve not to prosecute the accused.
Professor Adangor, a senior Advocate of Nigeria therefore entered norli prosicle, in favor of the APC chieftain who re-contested the seat of the National Assembly but lost to PDP’s, Kelechi Nworgu.
Today FM’s Uchendu Ejiowhor reports that counsel to Nwuzi, Tuduru Edeh, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria did not object to the application of the prosecution counsel.
The trial Judge, Justice Okogbule Gbasam struck out the suit and directed that the accused be released from Nigerian Correctional Center to his home.
It would interest you to know that Nwuzi, who represents Etche-Omuma Federal constituency at the House of Representatives, was arrested two days to his election after operatives of the Nigerian Police invaded his home in his community in Etche.
Nwuzi’s arrest followed a video which was circulated on social media, showing him making threats to kill officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, who will be serving in the just concluded general elections.
