Senator MELAYE drew the attention of the Senate to the development under Order Fourteen of the Senate Standing Rule, and urged the Senate to intervene.
Senator MELAYE alleged that the move against him was being masterminded by Kogi State Governor, YAHAYA BELLO.
But as soon as Senator MELAYE has finished his presentation, the Deputy Senate President, IKE EKWREMADU who is of the Peoples Democratic Party from Enugu State, declared that recall process was dead on arrival.
Senator EKWEREMADU observed that the recall process as provided in the constitution is a long one, including the verification of votes, which the Senate would also have to establish the legitimacy
