Reactions have continued to trail the reported defection of the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Kingsley Chinda, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
A human rights lawyer, Chetam Nwala, questioned how Chinda emerged as an APC governorship candidate while still allegedly in the PDP, describing the development as a mockery of democracy.
He also alleged that resignation documents may have been backdated to fit current political realities.
Civil society advocate Solomon Lenu also criticised the APC, accusing the party of weakening democratic values and encouraging political manipulation.
He said stakeholders are already challenging the matter in court.
