President OMAR AL-BASHIR of Sudan has revealed that he will step down from office in 2020 when his current mandate comes to an end.

By 2020, President AL-BASHIR would have put in thirty-one years in office, having first assumed power in 1989.President AL-BASHIR made the revelation in an interview with the BBC, but skeptics doubt he could be relied upon to honour his word, having made similar promise in the past but reneged.BASHIR also denied allegations of abuses allegedly perpetrated by Sudanese forces in renewed violence against black African villages in western Darfur region.
The Sudanese leader is still facing an indictment by the International Criminal Court over alleged genocide and war crimes in the Darfur region.
