President MUHAMMADU BUHARI’s directive to fast-track the implementation of the UNEP report on the clean-up of Ogoniland is still generating debate among stakeholders.  Correspondent FELIX OJOGWU sampled views of Rivers people including an anonymous public affairs analyst who criticized the previous PDP administration at the Federal level for failing to implement the report. Another respondent said the Ogoniland clean up is an initiative of the APC-led Federal Government, adding that former governor of Rivers State, ROTIMI AMAECHI and his successor, NYESOM WIKE cannot take credit for the initiative

An Ogoni native, BARRI WIDDA said his people are interested in the clean-up exercise and not concerned with party that makes it possible.
