This was contained in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Sonny Echono.
The affected institutions include; University of Ibadan, Port Harcourt, Lagos,ObafemiAwolowo, Ille-Ife and the Maritime University, Okerenkoko.
According to the statement, the five Governing Councils will be inaugurated by the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, on 19 April, at the Auditorium of the National University Commission, in Abuja.
The statement also said all Vice Chancellors of the affected university are expected to attend the inauguration ceremony.
In the same vain, President Buhari also approved the reconstitution of the Governing Council of twenty five Federal Polytechnics and twenty one Colleges of Education inline with enabling laws.
