Three suspects arrested in connection withthe abductiona led team of police officers and military personnel to a forest within a new layout in Igboo Etche, Etche local government area of the state where the victim was killed.
The Rivers state commissioner of police, Friday Eboka who addressed newsmen at the scene of the incident said although the police were not informed about the kidnap in September, the suspects were arrested few weeks after the incident was reported to the command.
CP Eboka said the victim who hailed from Benue state was abducted around Agboncha in Eleme Local Government and brought to the forest.
Two of the suspects; Frank Ishia and Gumba Okparaji who spoke to newsmen admitted to the crime, saying that their intentions was to collect ransom of two hundred million naira from the company where the late retired officer worked.
Today FM’s Uchendu Ejiowhor reports that the body of the retired captain was picked up in parts and handed over to the family for proper burial.
