Nigerian winger Philip Otele is set to join Italian Serie A club Lecce from Swiss champions FC Basel after both clubs reached an agreement over his transfer.
The 26-year-old is expected to complete the move after spending the second half of last season on loan at German Bundesliga side Hamburger SV, where he made nine league appearances and scored once.
Otele, who has impressed with his pace and attacking ability in recent seasons, is expected to strengthen Lecce’s squad ahead of the new Serie A campaign.
The move will see the Nigerian continue his career in one of Europe’s top five leagues after spells in Romania, the United Arab Emirates, Switzerland and Germany.
