Officials of the Department of Petroleum Resources have been monitoring petrol filling stations in Rivers State to enforce compliance with the new regulated pump price of petrol at eighty-six naira fifty kobo.At the end of exercise yesterday, five petrol filling stations located around Ada George and Mgbuoba areas of Port Harcourt were sealed up for alleged violations, including selling petrol above the approved pump price.Our correspondent LEVI ISU reports that the monitoring operation was led by the leader of the DPR’s special task-force team otherwise known as the pump prize regulatory agency, PRINCE OSHODI.The DPR official said it was discovered that some of the stations do not have operational permit and did not meet the requirement standard.Reacting to the closure of his facility; the Manager of Soltech filling station said he bought Premium Motor Spirit from the depot at ninety naira per litre.Meanwhile; some motorists and household users of petrol have commended the DPR for the clampdown on petrol filling stations that are selling above the regulated price.
