Rivers Deputy Governor Receives NMA Award, Reaffirms Support for Healthcare

Rivers State Deputy Governor, Professor Ngozi Nma Odu, has described an award presented to her by the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Rivers State Branch, as recognition of her longstanding support for the medical profession.

Professor Odu made the remark after receiving the honour at the 2026 NMA Rivers State Branch Dinner and Award Night held in Port Harcourt.

She expressed appreciation to the association for the recognition and pledged to continue supporting initiatives aimed at improving healthcare delivery across Rivers State.

Also speaking at the event, the Head of Service, Dr. Inyingi Brown, commended medical practitioners for their dedication and assured them of the Rivers State Government’s continued support.

Meanwhile, the newly elected Chairman of the NMA in Rivers State, Professor Ureh Oparaodu, urged members to remain united and work together to strengthen the association and improve healthcare services across the state.
