The Spokesman of the Command, NNAMDI OMONI who confirmed the incident said the slain criminal identified as SAMUEL NAPKO was shot while trying to escape from the operatives inside a forest in Ogu-Bolo Local Government Area of the state.
OMONI who is a Deputy Superintendent of Police said detectives at the Anti-Kidnapping Unit and men of Operation Sting of the Command acting on intelligence, stormed the kidnappers den and recovered different kinds of arms and ammunitions.
DSP OMONI said the command is ready to raid the state off criminal elements to ensure security of lives and properties just as he pleaded with members of the public to keep supporting the security agencies with credible information which will help in the fight against insecurity in the state.
Correspondent UCHENDU EJIOWHOR reports that three thousand, two hundred and forty-nine arms and ammunitions were recovered by the operatives in the operations.
