Nigerian Navy acquires new offshore patrol vessel from China.

The Director of Information of the Nigerian Navy, Commodore, EZEKOBE disclosed in a statement that the NNS Unity departed China yesterday en route Nigeria.

Commodore EEKOBE said the vessel is expected to arrive in Nigeria in the first week of November.

He said the Chief of Naval Staff was represented by the Chief of Policy and Planning, Rear Admiral JACOB AJANI at the handover ceremony in China.

Rear Admiral JACOB AJANI said NNS Unity would strengthen efforts against maritime crimes on Nigeria’s territorial waters and the Gulf of Guinea.

It is also expected that NNS Unity will now cover areas that were not duly covered by other Nigerian Navy ships.
