The Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel SANI USMAN said the suspected kidnappers first opened fire on troops deployed at Forward Operation Base in Ningi during a routine patrol.
The Army spokesman said the soldiers recovered three Dane guns and other dangerous weapons from the suspects.
Meanwhile; a suspected Boko Haram terrorist identified as ADAMU NUHU has been arrested at Kwaya Kusar Local Government Area, in northern Borno State.
Colonel SANI USMAN said the suspect is currently being interrogated, just as three women suspected to be wives of wanted Boko Haram terrorists and logistics suppliers who were arrested at Miringa market by vigilante members.
