Subsequently; a committee comprising of some state governors and ministers has been set up for the assignment.
The committee includes the governors of Oyo, Borno, Imo, Akwa Ibom, Kaduna and Anambra, in addition to the Ministers of Finance and Environment.
Plateau State Governor, SIMON LALONG, told newsmen that the move by the state governors is because of diminishing balance in the account of the Ecological Fund.
Governor LALONG disclosed that states have not collected any money from the Fund since President MUHAMMADU BUHARI took office.
LALONG said the balance in the Ecological Fund account currently stands at thirty-three point six billion naira.
