Professor ONUOHA has already been inducted to the position during the Annual General Meeting of the Nigerian Academy of Science, which held in Lagos.
Before now, Professor ONUOHA was the Academy’s Treasurer before he became Vice president in 2013.
In his acceptance speech, the Professor of Geology, said he was honoured to have been elected to lead Nigeria’s foremost science organization.
He is to lead the Nigerian Academy of Science over the next four years, towards achieving improved quality of life for the Nigerian society through the promotion and application of science and technology.
The new NAS President takes over from Professor OYEWALE TOMORI; who served as President of the Academy from January 2013 to January 2017.
