Local government workers in Rivers State have cried out for help over attacks by kidnappers.
State Chairman of the National Union of Local Government Employees, FRANKLIN AJINWO raised the alarm during a media briefing in Port Harcourt.
AJINWO wondered why kidnappers have become attracted to civil servants at the local government councils.
He was speaking against the backdrop of the abduction of the Treasurer of the Port Harcourt City Local Government Council on Sunday.
FRANKLIN AJINWO, who is also the Head of Local Government Administration of Port Harcourt Local Government Council, called for an unconditional release of the Treasurer.
Correspondent CHINEDU IWUNNA reports that the state leadership of the National Union of Local Government Employees is due to hold a meeting to decide on the next line of action.
