Lassa fever kill 2, infect others in Enugu

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health in the state, IFEANYI AGUJIOBI, confirmed the death of the second victim to the virus during a meeting at the state secretariat.

AGUJIOBI said the case involved a twenty-four-year-old pregnant woman, adding that three more cases have been confirmed excluding the initial six suspected cases, while two have died since the outbreak in the state.

Over two hundred cases of Lassa fever have been confirmed in the country, in at least nineteen states, with forty-two deaths recorded.
