The Minister’s first stop was at the spectacular Owu Waterfall in Kwara State, where he was accompanied by representatives of the community and officials of the Kwara State Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Speaking at the site, LAI MOHAMMED told the audience that government was looking towards developing natural assets like the waterfall, with a view to making them generate economic benefits.
He noted that lack of infrastructure remains one of the major challenges confronting tourism development in Nigeria.
The Information and Culture Minister expressed optimism that the revival of the Presidential Council on Tourism will bring about synergy within the government to surmount the challenge.
