INEC comfirms burglary attack on facilities at Emohua.

This was made known by the Resident Electoral Commission, ANIEDI IKOIWAK, in a statement released by the Doctor RICHARD NTUI who is the Administrative Secretary.

According to the statement, IKOIWAK confirmed that the burglars stole Direct Data Capturing equipment that was deployed for the ongoing continuous voters registration exercise and other properties belonging to INEC and the Emohua council.

It further noted that after an inspection of the facility, the Resident Electoral Commissioner urged INEC staff not to be discouraged by the action of the hoodlums.

ANIEDI IKOIWAK said steps were being taken to ensure the continuation of the voters registration exercise, just as he assured the general public that no data would be lost as a result of the theft.

IKOIWAK called on authorities of the Emohua council and the Rivers State Government to provide adequate security for INEC office in the area.
