Dr Emmanuel Ikpeme, the former Deputy General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation, has been endorsed as interim General Secretary following the resignation of Mohammed Sanusi.
Ikpeme is expected to oversee the NFF Secretariat and coordinate its day-to-day administration during the transition. Dr Ademola Olajire, the former Director of Media and Communications, will serve as interim Deputy General Secretary.
The development follows the resignation of NFF President Ibrahim Gusau, Sanusi and members of the federation’s Executive Committee. The processes leading to the NFF elective congress scheduled for September 27 have also been suspended, pending comprehensive reforms to be undertaken in consultation with FIFA, CAF and other stakeholders.
