IGP IDRIS orders investigation over alleged disappearance of many official vehicles parked at the Force Headquarters

As a result of the development; IGP IDRIS has ordered an investigation to determine the whereabouts of the vehicles.

The Police Chief claims that the vehicles had been taken away by retired officers in the previous Police Management Team.

He said the investigation was being handled by the Special Investigative Unit, which is to review all purchases and donations of vehicles to the police force in the last three years.

IGP IDRIS told reporters in Abuja that a letter has been sent to the immediate-past Inspector-General of Police, SUNDAY ARASE, alerting them about the development and to seek return of such vehicles in their possession.

However; Vanguard online quoted a source close to ARASE denying that he took twenty-four vehicles when he left office last month.

The Acting Inspector-General of Police also informed of an impending probe into alleged irregular promotion within the Force.
