Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has called on public service administrators across Nigeria to champion reforms that will reposition the civil service to meet the demands of modern governance.
Speaking at the opening of the 48th Meeting of the National Council on Establishment in Port Harcourt, Fubara described the civil service as the engine room of governance, stressing that sustainable national development depends on an efficient, productive and motivated workforce.
The governor urged delegates to develop practical and innovative recommendations that would strengthen public institutions, promote transparency, deepen professionalism and enhance productivity across all levels of government.
Fubara also disclosed that the Rivers State Government is nearing the completion of plans to modernise the State Secretariat Complex into a safer, technology-driven and more conducive working environment for civil servants.
