Fourteen suspected recruiters for the Islamic State militant group have been arrested in a joint raid in Spain and Morocco. The BBC reports that one arrest was made close to Madrid, while the others were intercepted in various Moroccan cities. The suspects are alleged to be working for a network that sends fighters to areas of Syria and Iraq, which are under IS control..

The move comes after last Friday’s failed attack on a Paris-bound speed train, which led to the arrest of a Moroccan who had lived in Spain. Twenty-five-year-old AYOUB EL-KHAZZANI reportedly arrived in Spain in 2007 and lived there for seven years, changing locations from Madrid to Algeciras, before moving to France.
