Former governor of Bayelsa State, TIMIPRE SYLVA, has won the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress in his bid to return to the Government House in Yenagoa. SYLVA reportedly polled seven hundred and twenty-six votes to beat other aspirants in the rowdy primary at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa yesterday.
The Bayelsa APC primary was conducted despite calls for cancellation of the exercise by some aspirants, including TIMI ALAIBE, due to alleged irregularities. Edo State Governor; ADAMS OSHIOMHOLE, who served as Chairman of the APC Electoral Committee was reportedly smuggled out of the venue of the primary, as supporters of rival candidates engaged in a free for all.
