Former Chairman of Asari-Toru Local Government council, OJUKAYE FLAG-AMACHREE, has been detained by the Rivers State Police Command.

The Police Public Relations Officer, AHMAD MUHAMMAD, confirmed the arrest of FLAG-AMACHREE in a telephone interview with our correspondent.
MUHAMMAD said the former ASALGA Chairman is being detained in connection with two murder cases during the re-run elections on 19th of March.
The Police Spokesman said the APC chieftain is presently undergoing interrogation and would be charged to court if a case is established against him.
A chieftain of APC in Asari-Toru, OROMOSELMA AMACHREE who also confirmed the arrest, said OJUKAYE FLAG-AMACHREE was picked up by security operatives when he visited the State Police Criminal Investigation Department to secure the release of one of his supporters.
OROMOSELMA AMACHREE claims that the move against the former council chairman is based on a petition written by PDP chieftain and Legal Adviser to ASALGA Caretaker Chairman, TUBO-TAMUNO DICK. The police are investigation the circumstances surrounding the death of SMART SOBEREKON and IMINABO DOKUBO during the 2015 Governorship Election, as well as the death of a Peace Corp member at Abalama during the rerun legislative elections in March this year.
