FG sets new conditions for border reopening

Minister of Foreign Affairs, GODFREY ONYEMA made this known in a committee meeting in Abuja.

Amongst the conditions laid out are; that the ECOWAS countries must respect rules of origin, as the Federal government vows that Nigeria will no longer allow repackaging of imported goods.

The Federal government also said any good coming into the country from ECOWAS states must have a thirty percent of local input, adding that goods imported to Nigeria must be guided directly from the port of member states to the borders.

You will recall that Nigerian land borders have been closed since August 2019.
