The advice comes ahead of the resumption of the National Assembly members for plenary on Tuesday after a two-month recess.
Ekweremadu said allowing the litigations to run the full course could be a major step towards strengthening the nation’s federalism.
He gave the advice in a statement by his Media Adviser, Uche Anichukwu where the Senator also demanded an expeditious hearing of the VAT,stamp duty suits pending in the Courts.
Recall that the FIRS had in a bid to retain the sole right to be collecting the VAT, written the National Assembly in July, seeking the inclusion of VAT collection in the exclusive legislative list as well as the establishment of the Federal Revenue Court of Nigeria, which would have the exclusive powers to adjudicate on tax matters in the country.
