South-South Zonal Head of EFCC, ISHAQ SALIHU gave this indication during a media briefing at the Zonal Headquarters of the commission in Port Harcourt.
SALIHU said the individuals under investigation are Politically Exposed Persons, stressing that more than five hundred million naira has been recovered since investigations began.
The EFCC Zonal Director also disclosed that the Commission has recovered a total sum of one billion, sixty million, two hundred and fifteen thousand naira since January this year.
He also said twenty-six individuals have been convicted so far in the South-South States of Nigeria.
ISHAQ SALIHU also disclosed that huge amount of money was recovered from a senior lecturer at the Federal University, Otuoke in Bayelsa State.
He said funds were also recovered from certain members of the National Youth Service Corps serving in Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State as well as a fake lawyer and some internet fraudsters.
