EFCC arrest oil bunkerers in Port Harcourt

Six of the suspects were arrested on 7th of May 2021, along the NTA road in Port Harcourt, while the remaining five suspects were arrested on the 9th of May 2021 at the same location.

 

The Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren in a statement said the suspects were arrested based on verified intelligence obtained by the agency on their alleged involvement in illegal crude refining. 

 

According to the statement, items recovered from the culprits include: three Mack Trucks without any registration number, one Volkswagen bus and one Nissan car, of which three of the Trucks were fully loaded with products suspected to be illegally refined Automotive Gas Oil, while the remaining two vehicles were loaded with cellophane bags containing same products. 

 

Uwujaren said the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
