Demostration School teachers accuses Rivers State Government of delay tactics

Chairman, Senior Staff Association of Nigeria University, Rivers State University chapter, who is also a Demonstration School teacher, Aaron Osorochi who made the accusation, also called on the government to be proactive in handling the issue.

Osorochi, who spoke shortly after their meeting with the state government, Commissioner for Police, and Civil Society Organization held at the Rivers State Police Command in Moscow road, warned that if nothing is done by the end of November, they will take actions against the government.

Speaking with TODAY FM’s Sandra Kenneth, chairman of Rivers Civil Society Organization, Enefaa Georgewill expressed disappointment that contrary to the promise they made during the last meeting,the head of service still did not attend the meeting

Enefa wondered why the state governor who claimed to be a respecter of court orders, would refused to obey a court order to pay the teachers.

The Rivers state Government is owing the demonstration school teachers five years salaries.
