UBAH dragged the DSS before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory to challenge his detention on accusation of economic sabotage.
The Chief Executive Officer of Capital Oil is alleged to have diverted eighty-four million litres of petrol belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, which was stored at his facility.
In an affidavit deposed by one of its personnel identified as SAFWAN BELLO, the DSS claimed that the diverted product is valued at eleven billion naira.
It further claimed that the action of the defendant could have plunge the country into another round of petrol scarcity, but for the steps taken by the Federal Government.
However; UBAH’s lawyer IFEOMA ESOM turned around to accuse the DSS of secretly obtaining a court order to detain his client.
The lawyer therefore filed an application challenging the continued detention of IFEANYI UBAH which Justice YUSUF HALILU of the FCT High Court is expected to give a ruling today.
