Court Sittings Commence at Newly Established Bonny Judicial Division

Court sittings have officially commenced at the newly established Bonny Judicial Division, marking a significant milestone in the local justice system.

Our correspondent reports that Justice Rita Oguguo has been assigned as the sole judge presiding over the division in Bonny Kingdom. However, hearings will temporarily be held at the Port Harcourt judiciary complex until the courtroom building in Bonny Local Government is completed.

The unveiling of the court was performed by the Chief Registrar of Rivers State High Court, David Ihua-Maduenyi, on behalf of the Chief Judge of Rivers State, Justice Chibuzor Simeon-Amadi. During the ceremony, he highlighted that the establishment of the Bonny Judicial Division aims to decongest the Port Harcourt judicial division and bring justice closer to the people of Bonny.

The initiative is expected to improve access to justice for residents and streamline judicial processes in the region.
