The Court of Appeal today dismissed a motion of appeal filed by Senator SARAKI, challenging his trial at the CCT.
Our correspondent JAMES IGAH reports that the Appeal Court Panel led by Justice ABDUL ABOKI dismissed the motion in a unanimous judgment.
The Appellate Court declared that the motion lacked merit and that SARAKI’s submission has no place in law.
The Court of Appeal Judges also affirmed the power of the Code of Conduct Tribunal to entertain the sixteen count charge against Senator SARAKI.
The judgment was delivered just as the Nigerian Senate set aside today for proposed amendment of the Code of Conduct Act in a bid to whittle down the powers of the CCT.
