The court in a two-count charge says, MESHACH IMEOLA is alleged to belong to a secret cult group and conspired with others, now at large to destroy property worth millions of naira in Rumuolumeni community in Obio-Akpor local government in September 2019.
Our correspondent reports that when the charges were read, no plea was taken after which the Chief Magistrate, ISREAL AGBAESOR declined jurisdiction to hear the matter and ordered that the case file be transmitted to the court registrar and Department of Public Prosecution.
The Chief Magistrate also ordered that the suspect be remanded in prison custody and adjourned till 2nd of April 2020 for legal advice.
Similarly; one VICTOR USORO has been remanded in prison custody for allegedly stealing twenty fowls belonging to RABIU SURAJI in Ogbogoro community in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
VICTOR USORO is alleged to have conspired with UGOCHINYERE NNA to steal the fowls on the 30th of October, 2019 but NNA pleaded not guilty of the crime while USORO pleaded guilty.
Our correspondent UCHENDU EJIOWHOR reports that Chief Magistrate ISREAL AGBAESOR after listening to the charge granted bail to NNA with the sum of fifty thousand naira and a surety and ordered that VICTOR USORO be remanded in prison custody before adjourning till 2nd of April, 2020 for hearing.
