In his Christmas goodwill message; Governor WIKE stressed the need for unity for enhanced development of Rivers State and the country, Nigeria at large.
Governor WIKE urged Nigerians to take advantage of the spirit of the Christmas season to promote forgiveness, love and peace.
He pleaded with those who may not have achieved what they wanted to put aside all interests for the sake of Christmas, as well as forgive one another so that Rivers State can move forward.
As a state; Governor WIKE wants Rivers people to use the occasion of Christmas to reflect on the need unite and work together as a people who are saved by the birth of Jesus Christ.
He said same approach should also apply to Nigerians are a people, and for all citizens to put aside their differences and show love to one another.
Governor WIKE said if Christ could be born for the salvation of mankind, it behooves on all people to make sacrifices in other to unite the country for the interest of every person.
Meanwhile ,The Senator representing Rivers South-East in the National Assembly has called for unity among Rivers people to ensure the progress and stability of the state.
Senator MAGNUS ABE, who made the call in his Christmas goodwill message, also expressed the hope that insecurity and violence that characterized 2016 would not be witnessed in 2017.
Senator ABE urged those who foment trouble to sheath their sword and embrace peace in the overall interest of the state.
The former Secretary to the Rivers State Government also assured the people of Rivers South East that their hope would not be lost.
