This is because the Egweoke Royal Group of Houses is not in support of such proclamation in favour of the current occupant of the stool of Okaan-Ama of Ogo, Chief JOB OKURUKET.
The position of the Egweoke Royal Group of Houses was made known in a letter addressed to Governor NYESOM WIKE, which was jointly signed by the Chairman, JOSEPH OWOH and the Secretary, OTUEBIAMA OROATA.
According to a copy of the letter obtained by our correspondent, the Egweoke Royal Group of Houses noted that the position of Okaan-Ama of Ogo is a subject of legal dispute, which was initiated by the Uwuile Family in 1978.
The group wondered where Governor WIKE would hinged his authority in recognizing Chief OKURUKET under the guise of upgrading the traditional stool to first class when the matter was yet to be resolved by the court.
The Egweoke Royal Group of Houses alleged that some politicians from Andoni who enjoy the attention of the Governor may have influenced the decision as a means to cause crises in Ngo Town.
The group pleaded with Governor WIKE to withhold what it described as ungodly action and save Ngo and Andoni in general from avoidable crises.
The Chairman of Egweoke Royal Group of Houses, JOSEPH OWOH who led other leaders of the community to register their grievances, further buttressed the position of the group in an interview with out correspondent.
Members of the Egweoke Royal Group of Houses of Ngo Town said they believe in the sanctity of the Supreme Court to resolve the Ngo Chieftaincy tussle.
They said it was only proper for the Rivers State Governor who preaches due process and abhors impunity in governance to allow the court to resolve the dispute.
