Speaking to newsmen at the end of the two days Monetary Policy Committee meeting in Abuja, the CBN Governor GODWIN EMEFIELE said the move is aimed at reducing financial crimes and also encouraging the cash–less policy.
EMEFIELE said the policy was initiated in 2012 by his predecessor but was suspended in 2014 noting that his administration was only returning the already existing policy.
The CBN boss also disclosed that the MPC retained the Monetary Policy Rate at thirteen point five per cent.
