Burundi’s President PIERRE NKURUNZIZA has been sworn in for a third term; one week ahead of the original schedule.
However; there was no foreign head of state at the swearing-in ceremony for President NKURUNZIZA in the capital, Bujumbura. South Africa was represented at ministerial level, while several African countries, as well as China and Russia, sent their ambassadors.
In his address, the President who now enjoys a fresh five-year mandates, promised to put an end to violence within two months. He said his reelection and inauguration demonstrates that nobody can stop the sun from shining.
