Nigeria continued its impressive run in the 2025 Billie Jean King Cup Africa Group III stage with a dominant 3-0 victory over Ghana in their second group match held in Namibia.
After starting their campaign on Monday with a 3-0 walkover win against Uganda, Team Nigeria came into Tuesday’s tie against Ghana full of confidence and did not disappoint.
In the first singles match, Adesuwa Osabuohien set the tone with a convincing 6-4, 6-2 win over Sisu-Makena Tomegah. Oyinlomo Quadre followed up with another solid performance, defeating Precious Okoh 6-3, 6-1 to hand Nigeria an unassailable lead.
The doubles match saw Osabuohien and Quadre pair up to seal the clean sweep, overpowering Ghana’s Tracy Ampah and Sisu-Makena Tomegah 6-1, 6-0.
The win puts Nigeria in a strong position in Group III as they continue their quest for promotion in the prestigious continental competition.
