Arsenal Thrash Atletico Madrid 4–0 to Maintain Perfect Champions League Start

Arsenal continued their flawless run in the UEFA Champions League with a dominant 4–0 victory over Atletico Madrid at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night.

Gabriel Magalhaes and Gabriel Martinelli set the tone in the first half, giving the Gunners a comfortable lead before Swedish striker Viktor Gyökeres struck twice in the second half to seal the emphatic win.

Gyökeres, who joined Arsenal in the summer, ended his nine-game goal drought in style, scoring a quickfire double within 13 minutes of the restart to cap off an impressive team performance.

The result keeps Mikel Arteta’s side top of their group with a perfect record, while Atletico Madrid were left reeling from one of their heaviest European defeats in recent years.

Arsenal will look to continue their fine form when they travel for their next Champions League fixture in two weeks.
