Governor Fubara Plans New Refuse Dumpsite, Inspects Projects in Rivers State

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, says plans are underway to establish a new refuse dumpsite to improve waste management and protect public health in the state.

The governor disclosed this after inspecting a borrow pit at Omuanke in Ikwerre Local Government Area on Tuesday. He described the current dumpsite as unacceptable, citing its negative environmental and health impact on nearby residents.

Governor Fubara assured that the ongoing internal road project leading to the proposed site would be completed soon to facilitate access and development in the area.

During the visit, the governor also inspected the government quarters for Permanent Secretaries at Elimgbu, emphasizing his administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure and the living conditions of civil servants.

Our correspondent, Racheal Ramson, reports that the governor reiterated his resolve to deliver people-centered projects that promote cleanliness, safety, and efficiency across the state.
