Correspondent UCHENDU EJIOWHOR reports that BARINE PAUL-YORABA who is the Public Relations Officer of the PDP, led over fifty members of the party in ward eleven, Barako with another one hundred and fifty PDP members from Lewe, ward nine.
Over three hundred members of PDP led by one PROMOO MONDAY from Bee-dere community ward four also defected to APC.
Speaking on behalf of the defectors in Barako and Lewe, BARINE PAUL-YORABA said they decided to join APC because they were treated badly by the PDP.
Receiving the defectors in various wards in Gokana area, the APC candidate for Rivers South East Senatorial District, Senator MAGNUS ABE expressed hope that there will be tight security during the rescheduled rerun elections which he said would encourage one man one vote.
Senator MAGNUS ABE also used the occasion to advised Governor NYESOM WIKE to stop deceiving Ogoni people with surface projects.
Hundreds of youths and women from Ubima community in Ikwerre Local Government area have defected from the APC to the PDP IN Rivers state.
The defectors led by their leaders said they were misled by the leaders of APC in the Ikwerre Local government area.
One MURPHY who spoke on behalf of the defectors said they were elated by the peace brokered by the PDP between warring factions of youths in Ubima.
The defectors were received by the Spokesman of the PDP in Rivers state, SAMUEL WONOSIKE at the party secretariat in Port Harcourt.
